In addition to working as a writer and speaker for RSI (Swiss Italian Radio and Television), Alessandro is the biographer of Maestro Ennio Morricone and co-author of his autobiographical conversation book: Ennio Morricone – In His Own Words. Ennio Morricone in conversation with Alessandro De Rosa (Oxford University Press, 2019, 2020, 2022), the Maestro’s official autobiography, originally published in 2016 in Italy by Mondadori Libri and translated into several of the world’s most spoken languages. The result of over four years of conversations, study, and passionate work, as well as a relationship spanning more than eleven years, during which mutual esteem between De Rosa and Morricone deepened into a profound friendship. The Maestro himself describes it this way in his preface:

De Rosa and Morricone continued to meet and work together even after the publication of Inseguendo quel suono. One of the additional testimonies that emerged from their collaboration is the podcast Io & Ennio Morricone, released by Amazon Audible in February 2020. In this podcast, Morricone and De Rosa engage in conversations about some of the Maestro’s professional and life experiences in a manner similar to, yet distinct from, their book.
